Special Events

The Confirm & Wait Lists have been posted to the Metro Seniors web site. The lists are through 31 January 2021. There have been a few signups today on 1 February 2021. These will be reflected in the next update.

You can find the list by going to the Metro Seniors Home/About Us page. Click on the Schedule and Results link in the top tool bar. Click on Special Events in the drop down menu. Click on the Confirm-Wait-Pairings-Instructions link. Then click on the event you want to look at. Or, go to the side bar on the Home/About Us page and click on Special Event Tournaments. There are some teams that have partners listed that have not signed up yet. Take a look at the Confirm & Wait Lists to see if your partners are listed. You can contact me, Joe Lerch jlwc@sbcglobal.net, if you think a partner is not listed. I can check the sign up software.

The first event, Find Your Swing, has plenty of room to signup. This is a great course to start off the new season. It will be held at a very nice Country Club, Sunset Hill, in Edwardsville, IL. It is a 4-person scramble and is loads of fun. Give it a try.

Several of the events are full and have a Wait List. Don’t let this stop you from signing up. We typically have around 20 cancellations for each event. We like a wait list to help fill the event. We can’t guarantee that you will make it in if you are on the wait list. But we have a pretty good record of everyone getting in. If we do have players still on the wait list after the event, refunds will be processed (less the $2 credit card fee).

There are two ways to sign-up for Special Event participation:

• Online with Credit Card

A PayPal account is not required to sign up on-line

METRO SENIORS WILL AT NO TIME HANDLE, STORE, LOOK AT, POSSESS, OR IN ANY OTHER WAY BE INVOLVED WITH ANYONE’S CREDIT CARDS INFORMATION! 

• Mail in sign-up and pay with check

For those who do not have a credit card, or computer, or who just prefer paper checks and forms, we are offering the paper option using the 2021 Special Events Signup Form.

Click on the mail in form above to see the complete form. You can download and / or print the form. Complete it manually and total your selections. Enclose a check for the total amount and send with the completed form to the address at the bottom of the form. Keep a copy of the form for your records.

Special Events are very popular and fill up fast.  There is a maximum of 128 players, except the Lou Luketich Founders’ Day event which will be a max of 144 players.  You can sign up and list your partners.  And you can sign up and pay for your partners if you want.  Be aware that signups are time stamped (postmark for check payment) and the first 128 or 144 players that pay will be placed on the Confirmed List.  Players that pay after the max number has been reached will be placed on a Wait List in time stamp order.  Players on the Wait List will be moved up to the Confirmed List as cancellations are received.  Every effort will be made to match players with the team they want to play with.

You can complete the form for any or all selections anytime during the season.

We finally received the prices for the Find Your Swing and Lou Luketich Founders’ Day events. The updated schedule as been posted to the Metro Seniors web site.

The Special Events Committee has finalized the dates, courses, formats, and pricing for 4 of the 6 courses. We are still working on pricing for the Find Your Swing event at Sunset Hills CC and the Lou Luketetich Founders’ Day event at Whitmoor CC. Click here for the Schedule & Rules.

The correction is to the Flight C position numbers. The order of the teams was correct.

Reminder, the Last Chance event will be held on Monday, 14 September 2020. Our other Special Events were held on a Tuesday.

The Last Chance 2-Man Best Ball event will be held on Monday, 14 September 2020, at the Sunset Hills Country Club in Edwardsville, IL. It is a 8:00 am shotgun start. Registration will be between 6:30 am and 7:30 am. Lunch will be served. The instructions can be found here.

The Pairing List does not have the Team Handicaps or Team Flights yet. This is because all to the results from the 3&4 Sept weekly tournaments have not been posted to Our Golf Stats yet. Hopefully the remainder of the results will be posted today and I will update the Pairing List.

The start time for the Last Chance Special Event is a 8:30 am shotgun start. It was previously posted as a 8:00 am start.

The Last Chance Special Event will be held on 14 September 2020 at Sunset Hills Country Club in Edwardsville, IL. Lunch will be served. We have 26 open spots. Plenty of room to get a 2-Man team together or sign up as a single. See the current confirmed list to see the singles already signed up.

The Last Chance is a 2-Man Best Ball format. It will be held on Monday, 14 September 2020 at Sunset Hills Country Club in Edwardsville, IL. It is a 8:00 am shotgun start and lunch is included. Cost is $67. We currently have 105 confirmed players. With a 128 player limit, there are plenty of open spots. Sign up as a two man team or a single. This is always a fun outing to finish up the Special Events year.
