Membership Information

800+ golfers organized for fellowship and golf.

We are volunteer run and Not-For-Profit. We organize over 12,000 rounds of golf annually at 25+ courses in the metro St. Louis area. Membership fees are mostly returned to members in prizes for Flight Winners, Close to Pin, and Hole In One. Most golf fees are “seniors rate” paid by players to the course.

Weekly tournaments have scheduled tee times starting about 7AM through 9AM. Courses are located mostly within a 30 to 40 minute drive from about I-64 and I-170 (Clayton). Many tee groups form car pools to make the drive more fun.

You can signup as a single, twosome, threesome, or foursome. You will be matched with other players/groups. You will meet more people and make new friends.

All skill levels are welcome. Our players have handicaps from single digit to 35+. We handicap all players and flight each event for fair, competitive and friendly competition.

Rules of Golf (USGA) are our primary guide. However, we have made some modifications to help Pace of Play and to reflect our strengths as “seniors”. See rules here. We encourage playing the tee that matches your ability. We offer play from 3 tees selected for each course (Forward, Middle, Back). Most play is from tees at 5000 to 5500 yards. Most of our high handicap players (over 30 Handicap Index) play from the Forward tees (usually the Red Tees).

We play “READY GOLF” and monitor Pace of Play. (more on Pace here.) (And here) We limit our division memberships to about 150 members each. We have around 100 players for each event to get a good PACE OF PLAY. Most rounds are finished in 4 to 4 1/2 hours. Slow play is “corrected”. Consistently slow players are may have membership suspended.

Come with a good attitude, follow the rules, play quickly, have fun, and respect others and you will be a good member for many years.

Short answer to your question – No!

Metro Plus and Special Events are benefits of being a regular, active member of Metro Seniors. Participation these extra tournaments are reserved for active Metro Seniors members. We require all Metro Plus participants to play regularly in Metro Seniors every season.

We play ten times more golf in Metro Seniors than in either of Special Events or Metro Plus. Metro Seniors is our foundation for Fun and Fellowship through Golf.
Special Events and Metro Plus would not exist without the membership and structure of our Metro Seniors organization, numbers of active golfers, and strong volunteer leadership.

Please join a Metro Seniors division. Enjoy friendly golf competition, make new friends. Expand that fun by participating in Special Events. Join Metro Plus to extend your fun to more challenging courses.
